Ship Shapes

In the last few years I’ve ridden a number of ferries through the San Juan and Gulf Islands, in the western U.S. and Canada. Naturally, the camera comes out for passing boats, dramatic skies, and cliff-clinging madrones. But I also find myself drawn to the shapes and shadows on board the ferries themselves. Busman’s Holiday

Pssst … Did you hear the one about the San Francisco photographer who visited the San Juan Islands and returned with a bunch of pictures that featured … fog? This one was captured on the return ferry trip from Orcas Island to Anacortes.
